This was the transition year for switching from my trusty old Olympus AM-100 compact film camera to a decent (for the time) Fuji A345 Digital camera, which mean’t I could finally unleash myself taking almost as many pictures as I wanted without having to worry about running out of film at inopportune moments.
It also mean’t I could record a bit of film footage with sound, even though the resolution it was capable of shooting looks garbage on modern high resolution screens.
In 2007 a couple of weeks after the Regatta I also acquired an even better Fuji S6500fd Digital Bridge camera, which I was able to press into service for even better footage for the 2008 and 2009 Whitby Regatta Events.
